About the Role

The Cybersecurity Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing security solutions that protect the organization’s IT, cloud, and OT environments. This role ensures that security controls, tools, and frameworks are effectively deployed, maintained, and optimized to defend against evolving cyber threats. The engineer will work closely with IT, development, and security operations teams to safeguard systems, ensure regulatory compliance, and support the organization’s risk management strategy.

What you will do. 

Key Responsibilities


  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-grade security solutions, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), endpoint security, and data loss prevention (DLP) tools.

  • Collaborate with IT and DevOps teams to secure network infrastructure, cloud environments, and applications.

  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration tests; recommend and implement remediation strategies.

  • Manage and tune SIEM, EDR, and SOAR platforms for optimized detection and response capabilities.

  • Support identity and access management (IAM) initiatives, including single sign-on (SSO), multi-factor authentication (MFA), and privileged access management (PAM).

  • Monitor security logs, alerts, and dashboards to proactively detect and mitigate threats.

  • Assist in developing and maintaining security architecture, network diagrams, and documentation.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, CIS, PCI DSS, HIPAA, or other regulatory requirements.

  • Participate in incident response efforts, providing technical expertise to analyze and remediate security incidents.

  • Research and evaluate emerging security technologies and best practices to strengthen the organization’s security posture.

  • Provide input for security policies, standards, and technical guidelines to support secure operations.

What we are looking for.

Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent practical experience.

  • 3–5 years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, systems administration, or network engineering with a security focus.

  • Strong understanding of networking protocols, security principles, and operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS).

  • Hands-on experience with security tools such as firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet), SIEM (Splunk, QRadar, Sentinel), EDR (CrowdStrike, Carbon Black), and vulnerability scanners (Nessus, Qualys).

  • Familiarity with scripting and automation (Python, Bash, or PowerShell) for security operations and process efficiency.

  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their native security controls.

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Industry certifications such as CISSP, GSEC, CEH, CCSP, GCIA, OSCP, or CompTIA Security+.

  • Experience with container security (Docker, Kubernetes) and DevSecOps pipelines.

  • Knowledge of Zero Trust architecture and micro-segmentation strategies.

  • Familiarity with risk management and governance tools like Archer or ServiceNow GRC.

  • Experience supporting security in highly regulated industries like finance, healthcare, or government.
